Spas & Hot Tubs
Wired for relaxation.
Overview
Hot tubs need a dedicated 240V circuit, a GFCI-protected disconnect within sight of the tub, and proper bonding. We size the circuit for your specific spa, install a weatherproof disconnect at the legal distance, and bond the equipment to current code.
What's Included
- Dedicated 240V circuit (typically 50A or 60A)
- GFCI spa panel disconnect
- Underground or surface conduit run
- Equipotential bonding per NEC 680
- Coordination with your spa installer
Signs You Need This
- New spa being delivered
- Existing tub on an undersized circuit
- Disconnect missing or too close to the water
- Breaker trips when the heater kicks on
FAQ
- How far does the disconnect have to be?
- Per code, between 5 and 50 feet from the tub, in line of sight, and not directly above it.
